Interested in becoming a valued member of Shaw Farms Equine & Therapeutic Equestrian Center’s team of volunteers? No prior Equine experience is required as we will train you. There are various volunteers’ opportunities available for adults and youth*:
Classes: Side-Walkers, Leaders, etc.
Barn: General Duties - Grooming Horses, Stall Cleaning and Bedding, Water Buckets Dump-Clean-Refill, Sweeping Cobwebs, Moving Hay, Sweeping-Cleaning Rooms, Raking Aisleway, Turn Out-Bring In Horses, Dumping-Cleaning-Refilling Water Troughs, Cleaning Tack, etc.
Grounds-Keeping: General Duties - Mowing, Weed Whacking, Pulling Weeds, General Maintenance, Checking Fence Lines, etc.
SFETC is thankful for our volunteers who give so freely of their time to help us fulfill our mission of serving individuals with disabilities. If you are under the age of 18 or are under Guardianship, your paperwork must be signed by your Parent or Guardian.
*All Youth Volunteers under the age of 14 are required to be accompanied by an adult/guardian during their Volunteer duties until SFETC staff approves otherwise.
